I received my Yaquina Head Lighthouse NexTide desktop 10.5″ model, as a birthday gift from my brother about 2 weeks ago, and I LOVE it! Endlessly fascinating and informative. It would be beautiful if it were simply a display item in a nautically themed home or other such environment, but it is made that much more interesting, as it has a practical and useful purpose as a tide indicator. I am a surfer, fisherman, beachcomber and Waterman and so it provides MANY uses for me. I also have a very thoroughly nautically themed decor to my home and live within a few miles of the actual Yaquina Head Lighthouse, so it helps enhance my living environment and friends & neighbors love the local flavor it adds. With a couple of thorough readings of the instructions, learning to interpret the light show of the indicators is easy and they are very attractive and ingenious. I always know what the state of the tide is before I head out the door to the ocean. Connecting the indicator to the NexTide (NOAA) database via Wi-Fi was fairly simple, although not all of my devices would connect, so if one doesn’t work, try another. The NexTide product is of clearly high quality and well made, and it’s electronics are quite impressive. I have told everyone I come across about the NexTide product and hope to purchase another design for a second room in my home soon. I highly recommend this product and company…you won’t be disappointed!
